Well, I must admit that I'm not familiar with the graphic novel (I wasn't with 300 or V For Vendetta when I watched those either) so I can't comment on how this would compare with the original. Based solely on the trailer it looks interesting, so I'd probably go and see it. |

I'm always 50/50 on Graphic Novels made into movies. V For Vendetta was good. I fell asleep in the theatre for the last 30-40 min of 300. Sin City was also a waste of my time. Its not because of the way the movies are shot. I liked Sky Captain. Yeah I remember thinking, when I was young, that if I died horribly it would be by Communists. Of course when Red Dawn came out that did not help. WOLVERINES! |

Heh, they are re-making Red Dawn too, that was a hoot. Well, I re-read the GN last night and ya know what, it just MIGHT work....time will tell. Although I wish Terry Gilliam was directing.... |

Yeah i remember reading The TPB back in like 88/89 and looking at the trailer it does look like i remember, when Archie came out it looked spot on, Rorschach etc... but i admit i forgot a lot... Gilliam would do an interesting job on it... |

Just finished reading it finally. Took me awhile as I would read in bits, but once the third act hit, I couldn't put it down. Going into SPOILER territory here, so anyone who doesn't want the plot ruined, please skip the rest of this post. It was really depressing that the only character with any real moral fiber (in my world view) was Rorschach. Everyone else just let it go. I REALLY wanted Ozymandias to get his rightful beatdown. It was a great story, but it just feels like it ends with little real resolution other than our heroes going about their lives. |

It's downbeat for sure. Rorschach is a fantastic character. It's funny, when i re-read it I picked up on all kinds of things. Every time I read it there's some detail or theme I missed before. Moore claims he pretty much made it up as he went along but I don't see how he could, it's so interlocking. |

I dug out my original comics for my sweety. She loved them. I didn't think the trailer looked so bad. I still think Mel Gibson would vave geen perfect for the Comedian. Jackie Earl Haley (Tough Kid on motorcycle from original "Bad News Bears")is perfect for Rorscach! |
