I like the look of the miniatures, just not the scale is all. There are some I will want just for generic demons and so forth:
Just some I spotted off hand that will work nicely for some baddies
This had nothing to do with cardstock.

Its collectable... meaning buying boosters. 54mm just means they can use plastics (cheaper), and they are easy to paint. (As opposed to D&D, with 25mm miniatures gorped with paint in vaguesly the correct spot.) The game play itself looks close to the original Mutant Chronicles Board Game, right down to the coloured dice. IMO, I loved the board game because one player always got to be the bad guy and try to murder the other players. Just off the top of my head, the game appears to be tactically complex, which is a good sign. Unlike any other miniatures game I'm aware of, their use of 'command cards' to unleash special abilities seems pretty cool since it adds an element of the unknown to what is going on. Its also 2D hex map based, so there's not much WWG stuff can do with that. I have my doubts about how will the game will catch on. I feel that in order for a game to really catch on (in the addictive sense), it needs to have combinational dependance. Just trying different or new units, gets pretty boring. I'm not certain if they are exploiting that aspect of gaming. |

I still play Ultimate Warzone once in awhile but yeah FFG missed the boat totally with the 54mm scale. I've got 15mm terrain and 28mm terrain there is just no way I'd be inclined to build a table in yet another scale. Then again, I'm not the target demographic since I'm one of those "bitter old Warzone players" that can't stand that Warzone died yet again under Excelsior's watch this time and has more 28mm Warzone minis than you can shake a stick at. |

Huh? What do you mean? I think the negatives are regarding a game that appears to suck (Especially if you've played Warzone) It sorta has NOTHING to do with a preference for cardstock. |

I think I missed something. I don't think this game comes with terrain. The preview I watched showed just a board and some figures. Nice figures, but no terrain. I don't argue that there are some posts knocking non-WW terrain. But not in this thread. |

At 54mm how can it even be called a "Miniature" game. The figures looked great until I saw the video of them on the play mat. It looked like over sized chess. Oh and um....card stock rules

I just picked up one of the boxes and looked at them through the plastic window. I'm guessing the WoW minis will be easy to pop-off the clicky bases... if there are any I want I did get some shots (some are rather poor):
