I just started using FF3.... The first thing to come to mind is just how very much I hate the way the Address Bar works. As an example, typing an 'f' in the address bar produced a list that started with Outtherecomic.com - which has nary an 'f' to be seen! I like the comic just fine, but what the heck does it have to do with the letter 'f'?!! I may or may not come to like the rest of it, but because of the address bar I am seriously considering going back to version 2. The Auld Grump |

If that is the only issue... when what is the issue? I found that the bookmarks in the toolbar are clear (bigger) plus when shifting links the actual visual is a lot clearer. I do believe that the program is faster to boot. Lord Abaddon of Wormwood |

I'm digging it so much I got them to install it at work. I agree that the address bar is a little off. I'll have to fiddle with the settings to see if I can change it. |

Give the address bar some time. It's based off what you go to the most, so it'll take a little while to learn what you tend to go to. It will also highlight what in the URL or description made it choose that option. |

I've seen enough complaints from the beta period that I will not put FF3 on my system until I have the option to entirely expunge the not-very-awesome-bar. I don't WANT help, I don't WANT it to look in my history, I WANT IT to look for what I type, nothing more. The Awesomebar is epic fail. |

Does anyone know if they have fixed the Awful Bar? If they have not then I will stick with FF2, even after they stop updating it. The Auld Grump |

I'm using Firefox 3.0.7 on a PC with Windows XP Professional and it seems quite good. I only started noticing a few crashes after I installed the "DownThemAll!" (version 1.1.1) add-on. However, just yesterday I upgraded that add-on to version 1.1.2. So I'll have to wait and see if it still happens. BTW, if you notice Firefox taking longer and longer to load, go to Tools -> Options... -> click on "Privacy" (along the top) if it isn't already selected -> reduce the number of days for history to be kept from 90 to a much lower number like 5 or less. Alternatively, just uncheck that option. If you've been using Firefox for a long time, you'll notice a big difference. |

http://news.datacolor.eu/en/archives/20 ... olors.html illustrates, quite strikingly, another issue with Firefox of which many may not be aware. Why on earth wouldn't that be the default setting? ![]() |
