The Yahoo Savage Worlds Group has an old file in the homebrew section titled Savages of Mars, it's pretty good start on a conversion ![]() |

I went all wiggly inside when I looked at those. Tars Tarkas was my childhood hero! These are much nicer than the Peter Pig 15mm models... |

Now that has been released, I'm starting to collect figs for some good ole' over the top space escapades. Mars Station will come in real handy for that as will Skull Cove (Venus anyone?). CCotD' |

I was tinkering with Plant Men, since the doc I found did not have them listed/Savaged. Here is what I have so far: Plant Men Attributes: Agility d8, Smarts d6, Spirit d6, Strength d12+1, Vigor d8 Skills: Fighting d6, Guts d8, Notice d8 Pace: 6; Parry: 5; Toughness: 7 Special Abilities: Bite x 2: Str+1 "The plant men, with their blood-sucking hands..." Duration: 3 (1/Round) This is an opposed roll against the victim’s Vigor. Success lowers Vigor one step, a raise lowers it two steps. Vigor cannot be lowered below a d4. Multiple strikes stack; keep track of when each strike expires. Size +1: Plant men stand 10 to 12 feet tall. Leap: Plant Men can leap 12” with a single bound. Tail Slap: ? I'm not sure how to handle this, but the attack takes place during a leap and with a strike of the tail (which basically is a big blade) Thoughts? |

Fiendish Ogrillon from the collection. Excellent for some Sci-Fi pulp gaming. |

Since Castle Zagyg: Upper Works is at the printers now and will be available at GenCon, I've given some thought to a few Barsoom adventures. Mostly this is because Gary Gygax once transported his son Ernie's character to Mars from Oerth (Ernie was supposedly a big fan of the Edgar Rice Burroughs novels), whose famous character Erac's Cousin became the first (and only) dual-classed character in OD&D (Mage/Fighter to be exact). Anyway, those mini's look very nice. I know there is a d20 Mars game out now thats based loosely on Barsoom (Im gonna pick that up as well as adapting part of Athas/Dark Sun). I think it would be rather fun for my PCs to come across a portal in Castle Zagyg that dumps them onto Barsoom. |

Thread necromancy, but in a good cause - is having a 30% off sale until August 10th. Dangit! Now I am tempted to put Barsoom in my Steampunk game. The Auld Grump |

If anyone is interested, the whole of 'A Princess Of Mars' can be read online legitimately as a part of Project Gutenberg. Check it out - has the original illustrations as well ![]() |
