The Power consumption is too high. That would be one reason why the device is on a tether. Efficiency is a serious issue for walking robots. The way to better understand that is to imagine how much energy that robot uses while idle. On the other hand if they tethered workers at work sites, that would work. If the device was light enough, then the soldiers could turn it off while not in use, then turn it on only when needed. Long term endurance for something like that will be a serious issue. |
