Post subject: | Reaper Con - Sculpting Classes |
There is no way in heck that I will be able to hit Reaper Con this year, but since the subject of sculpting and/or converting miniatures has come on this board more than once I thought that it might be worth mentioning that Reaper will be at their convention, ReaperCon. Maybe I can enjoy those classes vicariously. ![]() The Auld Grump |

My wife and my best friend's fiancee have gone to ReaperCon the past two years, but unfortunately won't be making it this year. They're super bummed about missing the festivities, too. ![]() Grump, were you there the past couple of years? You may have met them... |

I will be going to ReaperCon (again) and can answer a few of the questions. ReaperCon Sophie is 28mm and will probably be about $10. The weekend of the convention she'll be available for sale in the online store. But only that weekend! I took Bob's conversions class a couple of years ago and just loved it. He gave me the courage to try doing real conversions. Mine isn't a Bob Ridolfi original - it's a Rastl original as he had me do all the sculpting needed. Now, the Bobby Jackson figure with the Bobby Jackson cloak conversion is a whole different story. This year I'm taking Jason Weibe's sculpting class. You start with a basic dwarf dolly and add it all from there. Hair, armor, pouches, etc. Should be interesting to see what can be done in two hours. I've got a few painting classes and have made arrangements to sit with some of the painters I know for specific questions I have. I'm so looking forward to this! Also, there's a chance they'll have some of the reformulated Pro Paints for us to play with. Yay! |
