I'm a little unsure of which way to go whether to build all my fantasy terrain at 15mm and struggle finding 15mm mini's or bite the bullet and build at standard size and have a bucket load of metal/plastic minis to choose from but tough to transport/store.

I built a fair sized mayhem setup(6feetx4feet) in 25mm and find the storage/transport of it to be a complete pain in the neck(regularly cart gaming stuff 20km-600km) as it takes up a hugh amount of physical volume but getting hold of mini's to play on it is easy.

So considered scaling my fantasy stuff to 15mm and have built a fair pile of test pieces(mini chunk/CWU) and sourced some 15mm miniatures. Storage much nicer but trying to find all the different types of fantasy beasts in 15mm for RPG/HacknSlash not so easy (even looking through Hoards and other fringe 15mm fantasy armys)

So has anyone had any experience playing fantasy games on terrain with 15mm, it'd double for RPG and Wargamming. Any advantages disadvantages I've missed or comments? Any secret links to a full range of fantasy 15mm monster still in production?

It depends what sort of fantasy gaming you want to do, but there are vast ranges of 15mm historical figures out there for you to use as well. These guys have a range of fantasy figures and are currently offering cheap shipping on orders.

Essex Miniatures and Irregular Miniatures both have ranges of fantasy figures, although the quality is really not of the best in either range IMO.

I was after your standard fantasy rpg monster mix that tend to crop up in dugneons and for adventurers, the stuff thats made it to 15mm armies seemed to be fairly easy to locate goblinoids/demons/dragons/undead etc, but I've come up blank on some of the more one of stuff ie owlbears,beholders,chimera's etc

Probably no market for them, I'm just surpised more people haven't encountered the problem I have. My mayhem layout fills a hugh I think 70litre tube, If I do a castleworks layout and dungeon and cave components also plus some outside bits and wormhole (need to buy that) I could easily fill another 4 tubes... I think that could be failry good grounds for the wife to divorce me on insanity grounds (she is very tolerant of all my intrests but has limits)

by dropping stuff to 15mm scale I seem to save a lot of volume during storage (I think its about 1/3 of the volume) and transport becomes easier but you do lose the 25/28mm size prettiness, plus no stop gap prepaints in 15mm. Unless I asked the wrong question and some one can point me at the "bag of holding" or "portable hole" shop, next release for WWG maybe card "chest of holding" .
