Here are some of the minis available through the Stick & Stones site. They didn't post very large images and I was sent the above when I requested them. I think they will do the trick! |

I picked up this set: From Toys R Us last night for $20. i still need to crack it open and photograph the contents, but there are some okay looking palm trees that come with it to boot. The dinos are a good size and I'll most likely primer and paint them up. Tamiya makes some really nice looking velociraptor models, they come in a set of 6: They run around $15 and (hopefully) I'll snag those from a local hobby shop over the weekend. |

Anyone have a part number for the Tamiya Velociraptors? And what scale kit they are? |

Post subject: | Fake Mushrooms... |
I remember seeing fake mushrooms at craft stores before, but when I went looking for them this past weekend I couldn't find any. I tried Googling them, but again, no such luck; does anyone know of a online shop that sells them? |

If you are looking for 28mm dinosaurs/raptors here are some. All 3 of these companies also have other dinosaurs. Personally I think the Reaper ones are the best. But I have a selection of dinosaurs from all 3 companies. I even have the T-rex that Jeff Valent sells (person that sells the figures for Sticks & Stones). The T-rex is amazing, though a bit of a pain to put together. -Audrey |

Yeah the Schleich stuff is nice. Especially the museum series (Replicasaurus). The only issue is size. I forget now the scale they are. I think they are 1/40 scale. But if you are looking for a lower price, nice quality, and aren't concerned about size then they are the best bet. I am going to get some of their stuff for the big dinos like the Brachiosaurus and Apatosaurus. -Audrey |

Here are a bunch of shots of the Target and Toys R Us dinos. You will also see the neanderthals (I just stated painting them) and a few Schleich dinos, mammoth and sabertooth: The Schleich raptor is way to big. The saber tooth may work, if he was pulled from 10,000 BC ![]() I guess it really comes down to the fact that I'm going for a bit more camp and not realism. Sniz |

WOW! Snizitch and Wraeththu, these are wonderful pictures! You inspired me to pull out a box of dinos and sort through them. I sense a dinosaur rumble brewing! I love to use dinos in Sticks & Stones games, though I usually use the big ones sparingly. I agree that scale is an issue with most plastic dinosaurs. It doesn't bother me if they are a bit off on the large side, but some are indeed way too big. Since these tend to be the smaller dinosaurs (like Velociraptors), I usually go with metal for these. I agree with Wraeththu about Reaper being the nicest. If you are looking for mammals, check out DeeZee miniatures. They have very nice mammoths, woolly rhinos, a brontotherium, a cave bear, and others. A great site to see pictures of all sorts of cool dinosaur figures is http://www.linkandpinhobbies.com/dinotoys.htm#top . I got excellent service when I placed an order with them. Let me know if you have any questions about Sticks & Stones. Unfortunately, I can't explain the dingo issue ![]() Regarding mushrooms, check out this site: http://achesoncreations.com/Arrow/fantasy/fantasy.htm . |

If you're into the whole prehistoric thing, you should check out Prehistoric Park. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prehistoric_Park (Yeah I have this on DVD... the kids love it.) They do a great job of giving you a sense of scale and showing the 'more animal' side of things. Like, what are the social issues these criters have, and what do the vets do about it. In a different direction an local comic company has a series based on humans living with dinosaurs called Neozoic.. http://www.red5comics.com/?cat=9 Its kinda a brutal present day.. we have guns, swords, and grenades, but humans are really still struggling to hold their own against the dinos. But its a grat backdrop if you want kung foo boot blade, dino kicking; http://www.red5comics.com/img/gallery/2 ... v1copy.jpg |
