Recently I picked up the boxed set of Naruto season 1 (on the sugestion of a friend) and I love the series. I liked it enough that I went back to the store and got the next three seasons plus the movie. Can someone recomend some similar shows that I could pick up? Any sugestion need to meet the following requirements (in order of importance) 1- NO nudity! I have small children who like to watch tv with me 2- Not too scary (see above) 3- no or limited swearing/cursing. See above 4- Continuing storyline/ not broken up (has to make scenes when watched) 5- fantasy prefered over sci-fi 6- Series prefered over movies (I liked it so much I am tinkering with a SW campaign based on it, if I find some other good shows to add I may use them as well for other countries/contenents/cultures) Richard Edit: Forgot a requirement but was reminded thanks to everyone else |

Check out Hayao Mayazaki's wonderful movies (released under the label Studio Ghilbi). All great for kids and adults, though some might get a bit scary much for the young or sensitive, and a couple may be a bit junior for the old and cynical. |

Studio Ghilbi movies are usually decent and alright for children, although I would not consider Princess Mononoke kid friendly. But I don't really think they're that similar to Naruto. Off the top of my head Mar might be similar and is probably alright, but I've only seen a bit of it. A lot of good shows usually contain a level of violence thats not for younger children. Bleach is usually pretty popular with Naruto fans, but it has notably more graphic violence, probably swearing too but I don't really track that. |

I would like to both second Studio Ghibli recommendations and point out - for possible Google or other search purposes - that it is indeed "". |

Another popular, family friendly show would be Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles. |

Even I like Miyazaki - and in general I hate anime. ![]() For little girls I would highly recommend Kiki's Delivery Service and My Neighbor Totoro. Spirited Away is possibly the best animated film that I have seen since Disney died. I hope Lassiter brings over more of Miyazaki's work. The Auld Grump *EDIT* Oddly, I found Kiki's Delivery Service in the adult film section of Blockbuster - I guess they thought that it was a sex comedy of some sort.... ![]() |

In addition to what's been listed here, I'd also recommend: (It's three seasons long. Only first is out, and the second comes out in a few weeks) |
