Thought I'd get this thread started. I just sent the game file to ScrubKai. Exciting stuff so far. The first religion race is on, I'd guess. ![]() |

Thanks for starting the thread Robby. Since I got a turn in this morning, I'm hoping I might get another one in this evening. Arabin |

Yeah - right now the turns are pretty easy. Not a whole lot of decision making going on. ![]() Did we ever come to a consensus about whether we're playing cutthroat or friendly? Probably better to have a general idea about that before we start bumping into each other. ![]() |

My thought for the game is friendly in general, but not restrictively so. If you see an opportunity, go for it... but remember the AI is playing at a pretty tough level, so we'll have more chance if we work together. It's a small map, overpopulated, so conflict will probably begin early. Arabin |

Just so we all know... What were the world settings that you used for this game. Map size, number of civs, envionment, victory conditions enabled... etc. Were they all random or what? |

I think I pretty much chose default. Since I hadn't played the basic game for a long time, most of the options I'm used to looking at were not there. Since the game should have the same settings as the last one created, I'll jot everything down here... but it's a pain as I have to keep ALT-TABing back and forth. Hopefully I won't crash with the post half done... MAP: Continents SIZE: Small CLIMATE: Temperate SEA LEVEL: Medium ERA: Ancient SPEED: Quick I did have the option checked for "City Flipping after Conquest". VICTORY TYPES: All Erm... other than that, I can't actually remember how many players I put in, but the AI ones were at Noble difficulty (lowest you can set) while we are all at Warlord difficulty. There are 2-4 AI players. I wish I'd jotted it down but I did it in a rush *shrug* If it's any consolation, I certainly have no advantage here since I don't remember, and I'm out of practice with this version. Thanksfully I didn't crash yet ![]() Hope that helps. Arabin |

Hmmm... 6 to 8 players on a small map. Id say we will probably be bumping into each other soon. Oh my turn is done. |

Heh, too true about the additional posts. It's a handy way to know where the turn is, so we know who to hassle if it gets delayed. I guess we don't need to do it all the time though, and can post only if the game is being held up by someone for more than a couple of days. Then we all post and say "I sent it... so I'm not to blame" etc. Arabin |

The sad thing is, I checked my email right after you sent it. So I sent it on to Kane 6 minutes after you sent it to me... That's got to be some kind of record ![]() |

PBEM does make you think about taking an action before actually doing it... and you need to plan ahead, then remember your plan ![]() Arabin |

That's a good question, and I really don't know the answer. I suspect you won't be able to, but it would be nice. I agree that things are definitely moving at a snails pace. I really had hoped for a "quick start" option, but it wasn't available. I've not received the turn back yet from the one I sent on Saturday ![]() Arabin |
