I can't believe it. I didn't even know he was sick. I love his books. Wheel of Time is by far my favorite series. |

I knew he was sick, and he had know for years. Sad, very sad. There is part of me hoping to high heaven that he did finish the Wheel of Time. The reading world has been change by his work - more for the better I believe. Lord Abaddon of Wormwood |

Wow, that is shocking and sad. It just goes to show that it can happen to anyone, at any time. I also wish that he could have completed the Wheel of Time series, but hopefully he had enough notes that what will be written will do his vision justice. I feel a little guilty, thinking of the books, but being honest, I never met the guy, so I know him only through his writing. A very sad loss for fantasy fiction. Arabin |

Whilst I had become intensely frustrated with his WoT series due to it's loss of direction and pace, the earlier books were immensely enjoyable. I had been following Mr Jordan's battle against his illness on his blog for the past couple of years and I have to say that he approached his end with courage and dignity. More than his books, his blog comments made me actually like this man and I had been rooting for him to succeed. I am very sad to hear this news. The level of optimism he generated over his chance of beating the disease was very high (even though the statistics were not). My condolences to his family and friends Frank |

I stopped reading the series after book 7 or 8, deciding to wait until it was complete as the books were drifting too much... but the early ones were superb. Arabin |

Second worse news I've heard all year (still doesn't come close to how bad the first news was), this is a bit of a downer for me, I have enjoyed much of Robert Jordan's writings, he wrote some of the best Conan books I read. I am glad that they still plan on finishing the last book, it would be a fitting tribute to see this great work finished. You will be missed Robert Jordan, may your journey into whatever afterlife awaits you be pleasant. |

I stoped reading his books about 4 or 5 novels ago. Figured I would wait until they where all done. Back in the 90's I used to joke with a friend that he would die before he would ever finish the series. Wish I had not said it now. As sad as it is, and as horrid as it is for all of his fans, Robert Jordan lived one hell of a full life. Do some research, could most people at the age of 70 say to have done as much as he has at 58? |
