OK, so we managed to squeeze in a *real* game of AT-43 last night, enough cover and distance between the forces that we didn't end on turn 1 this time. While I got my ass handed to me, it was by no means an easy victory for BJ, he had 1 squad and a warmachine (that was not a part of his original force, halfway through the game he used an ability and said "Hey, here's an extra hundred points for my army, kill it and I'll do it again!) left at the end of the game. The rules are better equipped to handle larger games, even at the 1000 point level that we played last night, they still seem kind of constraining, especially regarding target choice and line of sight/zone of fire. I have already figured out how to abuse the zone of fire rules, but there is a fix by way of the conbat drills, so I don't think that is as broken as it seems. And while this game seems designed to be played on a 2'x4' board, I think 2000-3000 points will absolutely rock on a 4'x8' table.

We'll play a few more times before we decide this is definitely the sci-fi battles game for us.

How could I forget to mention that BJ had over some friends to learn the game too, Michael and Jessica. Talk about a dustraction! Jessica had this outfit on that really left very little to the imagination, and her conversation regularly turned to her various body piercings and sexuality in general. Way too skinny for my taste, but way too flirty to keep my mind on what I was doing. Anyone remember Startegy Cards from 40K 2nd Ed.? Me and Shawn used to make our own, "Girly Magazines" was one you could play on an enemy armored transport and delay it for a turm, she was kind of like that...

I play AT-43 and really enjoy it! My friends and I usually play a minimum of 2000 points and the game holds up really well even at the 3000+ points level!

I would recommend playing the game at the 2000 point level once you get used to the advanced rules... it really gives you a better collection of units and striders!

The points are based on my budget... after my next order comes in, we'll be doing 1500 points, and by the middle of next month we should happily be rolling at 2500+ points...

I was considering using Mars Station for this but I read a post stating that it was just a little under scale.
