Whoops, I originally threadjacked Paul's triumphant return with these. but realized the error of my ways before anyone took note (I hope). Paul mentioned doing other boats, and my first thought was COAST GUARD CUTTERS! which promptly sent me off finding pretty pictures to crowd Paul's thread. Rather than waste the pictures I am moving them here - Coast Guard cutters are a varied lot, in an amazing variety of hull design, length, draft, and propulsion. Lots of room for whatever the designer might want to create, too. Like Mr. Senior I am enthusiastic in regards to sea vessels. The Auld Grump |

Shot at French Creek: SAR Lifeboats Small shore-based self-righting lifeboats approximately 15 metre long, capable of search and rescue operations of up to 100 nautical miles with a top speed of approximately 25 knots. They carry a crew of four or five persons. This is the larger vessel. |

Hmm, a certain similarity of style there. ![]() Having a recognizable pattern would make a definite sense in regards to approach. And a between the U.S. Coast Guard and a Canadian rum runner during prohibition (set to music) - a major gaff on the part of the Coasties. The Auld Grump |

I love it too! (the SAR one) Self righting, eh? But where are the rodholders? And they need a large dive platform ![]() |
