I have looked at D20 Modern, and in many ways like the mechanics better than those of D&D. I also have a core of bitterness towards the game - the whole reason I bought D20 Modern was that the D20 Past supplement was in the works (I run Steampunk). I am afraid that D20 Past SUCKED! (not a phrase I use a lot, but in this case it describes my annoyance on the subject). There is little official support from WotC at this point, but there is some excellent third party support out there, especially in PDF form. Take a poke around RPGNow, YourGamesNow, E23, and DrivethruRPG. Really, while you will find some garbage there are some very good products as well. Adamant makes some Victorian setting material, which is much better than anything in D20 Past. (I have issues with the owner of Adamant, but his company's products are quite good.) The Auld Grump, about to watch the original Nightstalker movie, with McGavin. |
