That would be cool to port over some of the stuff from WHFRPG 2nd & 3rd edition to SW:Showdown. I think there was an attempt on the Sharkbytes page (or possibly the Savage Heroes site) if memory serves... I'll be damned how to find it through their abysmal search entry in the downloads section, but to the Showdown rules. ~Floyd |

The fluffy stuff is all I want to see ported directly. As has been said on so many other conversion projects, the current WH rules do NOT reflect the fluff. 40k Space Marines are not NEARLY tough as they are made to sound in the fluff. Fantasy fares somewhat better, but still could be improved. I was perusing the PegInc forum for conversions like this and nothing has really been done yet...though their is a community SWWiki for posting such conversions. May just have to do it myself...if theirs interest. I seem to pick projects that nobody else cares about. ![]() Thanks for the link! DLed and printed for safe keeping. |

They are damn close! Right now, I'm on a huge Ogre kick, though. Their army book is a great read. |

So what were you thinking of doing? Translating some (of the) flavor (of the fluff) into the actual game play stats via SW & SW:Showdown? ~Floyd |

Yeah, I want to do my best to make the Ogres as represented into SW:S characters. I'm thinking Heroes would be Wild Cards and everyone else will just be normal but all Ogres would have high Toughness. Weird thing is that the Showdown rules don't actually cover everything. I'll have to read SW again since actual combat isn't really covered. No toughness or armor. Another thing, I found the SW:S point cost chart buried on my hard drive and...Toughness doesn't cost anything! Doesn't make any sense. |

Bah...been too long since I read the SW rules. Despite what it says, the SW:S file does NOT contain anything even resembling playable rules. You MUST have a copy of SW. Anyway, in my consideration of converting WH/40K to SW:S I have been thinking. The one thing I DO like about WH is the armor role. Has anyone come across anything for SW that covers a resisted armor test rather than a passive Toughness bonus? No reason to re-invent the wheel if someone knows of something that would work for this. Thanks! |

at one point had a WH fantasy conversion for showdown posted but the link to that is unfortunately is dead. Also I like the idea of making an armor role rule in any future sw:s wh/40k rules. |

I thought I had read about a modified version of SW with different health/armor rules. I just can't remember what game it was. (Deadlands?) Right now, I want to convert the Ogres to SW. I'm thinking I need to get the Fantasy Toolkits and start there. Should give me lots to build on. actually has a great article posted for 40k for a starting point there. <edit>That article seems to have been taken down...? It all boils down to getting the right Edges and Hindrances for each race, I think. |

Now I just need to find someone to play against. I suppose I could do it solo, but its just not as fulfilling. ![]() |

So my totals are Attributes: 33, Skills: 16, Size: 3/Large: -1, Light Armor: 2, Sweep: 1, Club: 3. So actually I got 63 points. |

Just got the troop builder Excel file from Lord Inar over at the PEG forums and its very, VERY nice. Plug your stuff in and go. Had only one mistake that I could see and it agreed with my results, therefor it is right! |
