Hmm, a while since I posted...


Anyways, I've been buying these awesome 3d dungeons for a while, printing and building them, and, I've finally got a fully 3d dungeon for my gaming group.

But here's the kicker. I haven't been able to get my group to match schedules for over 3 months now.

Anyone ever have similar problems? The main issue here is nearly all of us are in that between high school and college stage, working jobs with fluxing schedules, and taking a couple small classes in between those shifts. Any ideas to get them all together again?

Well lets see, I started running my Shadowrun Campaign in August of 2003.
Technically the longest campaign I have ever run, though one of the lowest karma (experience) point totals. I just ran the Second game this year, last game was in February, game prior to that was in November.

So yeah, we average about 3-4 months per game.

My group are all mostly married several of us have kids, mines 9 months. the oldest kid of the players is 14 years now. And let me tell you something difficult about organizing play time... between birthday weekends, anniversaries, trips and so on yeah its tough.

I typically Send an email out with 4 available weekends roughly a month in advance, they reply with their issues, and I add weekends until we get to something that will work. Then I have 2 alternate weekends in reserve. And even then often times we are put off for 3-4 months between.

Goodluck It typically only gets more difficult.

I find that using holidays is a good excuse to get everyone together for an extended period of time to play. Memorial Day Spycraft is something we do a lot.

Since you are all college/high school kids, don't you get like the summer off to play?

I started my kids on Savage Worlds this week. Great fun, and easy too - even with teaching my kids the SW system as we go along.

It helped heaps using the WWG materials (used mainly DungeonLinx, VW and Mini Chunk 1" floor tiles) for quick layouts so they could follow what was going on - the first time my WWG stuff has been used in anger (in fact the first time I've used props at all)

Sorry no photo's (the layouts were pretty crude), but the smiles on their faces were great, and they role play really well.
