You don't have to be a mechwarrior fan to give me some ideas for this.

What I'm looking at doing is running a continual campaign in the Mechwarrior universe that allows all players to start with one planet, and lets say 2,000 points of figures.

Attacking

Now the players can transport their troops for a small amount of points to another planet to attack. Winner is best out of 3 or best out of 5 depending on what is agreed upon. Could have some planets best out of 5 depending on how many points the planet is worth.

To hold a planet the players must leave a minimum of 300 points on the planet. If a players planet gets attacked they can only use the points that they left on the planet to defend it.

Reinforcements could be brought in depending on the distance between planets. Say if the planet is one jump away then reinforcements could be brought in for the second battle but not the first.

Bonus Points

Winning a battle could give you 50 extra points
Captured vehicles and Mechs gives you half of that units total points (including pilots and gear cards) as salvage
Capturing Infantry allows you to ransom them back to the player but I'm not quite sure how to work this one out.
Capturing a Pilot card takes that pilot away from the player for one cycle (a week or two weeks) unless ransomed back to the player for double the point cost.
Winning BOTH objective plus by victory points give a bonus 100 points


Obvioulsy after awhile some players will have thousands of points, which is the point. I want to make it balanced so that new players that start in the middle of this will still have a chance.

To actually participate the player must register and choose a faction. You can register under several factions as long as you have the figures to play that faction. They must submit a battle report (preferbly detailed) with some pictures. This is to make it fair and to route out cheating.

Granted you will need a friend to play with and all players must be registered.

Anyways I need more ideas either for game play or on how to organize the whole thing.
