The Xbox has dropped to just under $500AUD after the PS3 release. No I wasn't going to jump and and grab one just yet untill the larger plan was released. The Xbox runs HD movies but not Blu-Ray, correct? And are there movies out there for the Xbox to run in that format? The other main features that PS3 has over the Xbox is that it looks pretty compaired to xbox and Wii and that Xbox live is a subscription (why do I type this when I know I might never play games on it or not really much at all). I was referring to the original XBox. XBox 360 doesn't have a whole lot of options with media playing. It can't handle divx, xvid, etc. unless you use an outside program to convert it on the fly. Like I said, if your primary focus is a media center go with an original XBox and modchip. I recommend the Xecuter 3 modchip. |

Does or can the Xbox be wireless? This is important also. I would look at the AppleTV if it had a larger range of file types that are compatible with it (also a DVD player). Lord Abaddon of Wormwood |

You can use Zune and share media with the xbox 360, but the machine itself doesn't recognize them. Apparently Windows Media Center works very well with the 360 if you have it installed. The PS3 has some monster hardware but its a year behind the 360. It'll come into its own. It doesn't have a ton of exclusives at the moment but that will change around May. I dunno, I enjoy mine just fine although I play the 360 more. |

Yeah, you can have the original XBox be wireless. You have to use a wireless bridge though. It's pretty much an external device that takes the cable from the ethernet port and changes it over to a wireless signal. |

On a side note has Vista taken over the roll of Media Center? The other option for a semi-media center is a Topfield. Lord Abaddon of Wormwood |

Yes, there is a version of Vista that 'replaces' Media Center. It's called Vista Home Premium. |
