First off, let me say, I did not know they were doing this game. To be honest. I'm not that disappointed. It's not too bad for the compromise on complexity and build for 2.5d. But then I liked the Race Day cards and Pirates of the Caribbean sets too. Will hold final judgement till I see more models... ~Floyd |

I thought the Pirates models were OK looking....... but I'm sorry but these Transformer models just look silly IMHO. Better off just buying some of the cheaper plastic models from shops. |

The only thing it's missing is the "Fonz" factor: that which makes something unalienably cool. 
I think I'd be hard pressed to come up with a way for something made out of 2D planes to both 1) look like a cool model in either form, and 2) actually change between them (!!!). Something says that the model is going to end up looking lame in one form or the other. Ah well... |

Don't get me started. Since George Lucas murdered Star Wars, Transformers remains the sole standing pillar of my childhood. Now Micheal Bay is going to piss all over it. So... very... not-happy...

I'm a long-time Transformers fan who really enjoys the toys and cartoons, but I don't think I'd buy this game. It just feels wrong on so many levels... I'd rather spend the money I saved NOT buying this game on another Alternator or two!

I was out shopping with my wife over the weekend and saw the Transformers CCG so I picked up a pack for $4.99, just to check it out. It said it is a 2 player battle pack, so I figured my wife and I could try it out. I opened it up and found Dreadwing first, with is an okay plane and robot. Then I check the other card... it's Optimus Prime! Talk about lucky  Of course the points are way out of sink so it's not really a 2 player pack. Dreadwing is worth 24 points while Optimus Prime, being a very rare, is 54 points.
Anyway, I thought I'd read through the short rules and try it out. HUGE disappointment. The game is basically rock, paper, scissors... and it would be extremely easy to learn your oponents 3 possible moves, and then predict what he/she would try. I'm sure it'll be tougher when there are a bunch of expansions, but right now, there are only a total of 26 transformers... so not too hard to remember 3 stats for each... if you were dedicated enough anyway. The stated age is 8+ but I think it should remove the + symbol. I'll keep these for when I have family visiting, but doubt I'll pick up anymore. Arabin |

I got the sample pack Jetfire, and assembled it just so I could laugh at it. The StarWars Pocket Models look a lot better than the transformers, but they're basically just 3d trading cards as far as the rules go. |

They could have at least kept the transformers in their original styles. At least Optimus Prime is still a truck, just a very different truck... with flames. And Bumblebee!?! He was my favourite. Oh well, I guess I should look on ebay for the originals... though I suspect they will sell for a fortune now. Arabin |
