What the Count say is very true Highland. In turn what you say about the site and it's inability to show case the products powers/strengths is also very true. I would be surprised if you didn't like it. The toolkits are not essential but are great to have - they add no real new rules but should how the system can be used. As for the outlay - I'm talking out my ass a bit here but I'm sure that the cost of one of the new GRUPS rulebooks (you need min. Two, right?) would over the Savage Worlds rulebook plus a very large stack of Toolkits. The only thing that Savage Worlds does not do yet is the whole Solo play the seems to be getting written into more and more games these days. Lord Abaddon of Wormwood |

Ok, seeing that almost everyone who posted wants Savage Worlds I went ahead a purchased the Savage Worlds Revised Hardback and it should arrive this week (2 day shipping). I assume this will give me until the end of the week to get acquainted with the system and be ready to play... IF anyone is still interested that is. My question is, what will we be doing? Do I need to buy any other books to go along with the two I picked up (I also got the Necessary Evil Hardback for the supers rules). And who wants to run this thing? One, Two, Three, NOT IT! Maybe you could get your feet wet with one of their "One Off" modules... They have them posted over on the Pinnacle Website. SW is a deceptively easy system. To call it rules light is not exactly accurate. But it is definitely easy on the book keeping end of things. ~Floyd Deadlands Reloaded! Necropolis 50 Fathoms All of them are good stuff. The 3 above are probably my favorites. |
