What in the holy heck is ? I know Blood Bowl but have never heard of Dungeon Bowl. Not many details on the site and it is a used product. Anyone familiar with it?

An expansion for the early 2nd Ed BB, the game is basically played inside a dungeon (funny that!). IIRC the rules sucked pretty badly (3rd Ed is much better), but some fun was to be had with all the traps and variable paths to score.

If you get find a copy of White Dwarf #225, it has info on it.

Would look nice done on a 'Chunky' Dungeon pitch tho


Actually, there is also another you may be interested in from Andy "Heresy" Foster. Its like Blood Bowl but more geared towards the fighting than playing....... its called , and you can download the test rules, trial pitch etc from the Forum of Doom / Heresy Website. It looks pretty darn good actually, and I'm planning a future purchase of Arenaworks to play this on.......... oh, he also has a growing range of figures for this

There has been a Dungeon Bowl Compendium for the 3rd edition, but it looks like it's gone out of print again.

And, yes Dungeon Bowl in the Chunky Dungeon would be way cool.

You'd just need to adjust the scale a bit. Blood Bowl uses a 3cm grid - approximately 1 1/8". That 1/8" might not look like much at first glance, but over the distance of a few spaces it could seriously screw the balance between moving and throwing distance.

Well, the 3rd edition Dungeon Bowl rules (and tiles even) are available free, online. But the link shown in boardgamegeek is busted. And the Specialist Games site no longer lists it as a download.

Still, a clever person would know how to hack into the Specialist Games server and root around and discover where they've hidden the pdf. Sure, it might involve scuttling down the airshaft, and then dropping through the ceiling vent on those suspender-cable thingies. Hacking into their Level-3 security protocols and ... oh hell. Just go and save all that spy stuff.

It was originally designed as a free rules article printed in an old issue of White Dwarf. This was during the time of the "Fat Dwarf" which meant they included some thin cardstock inserts. They had a sheet which had two endzone tiles, and various chests and traps and such. In my BloodBowl box I have a ziplock baggie with all of these DungeonZone components.

The "new" PDF (above) now contains images of various Warhammer Tiles right there as part of the article, so you don't need to have WHQ to use this.

Granted, the article shows two possible dungeon layouts, and they provide the tiles needed for those layouts. If you had the full set of Warhammer Quest tiles, you could devise many more layouts. Now, if you don't have Warhammer Quest, and you want the full set of tiles ... I may know where they can be found

Then again, I may not. But you can check out these tiles which were originally for HeroQuest, and many people have adapted them to WHQ.

I'm only listing those above for comparison purposes, because frankly, you shouldn't consider using them. Why? As a long-time gamer who has logged many happy hours using those very tiles, I can honestly say that was then, this is now. And Worldworks is now. Those other tiles just can't compete with Worldworks textures.

If you already own any of the Worldworks dungeon or gothic sets (or the caves for that matter), you have at your disposal textures that are just so much richer. It would be so easy to grab some of those ground textures and make your own dungeon tiles.

And let's not forget about the Lair of the Dragon God 2.5D set found which would be ideally suited to DungeonBowl.

And yes, I really love BloodBowl, and think it was one of the best things GW ever designed. Don't really like most of what they did with the 4th edition rules though.
