I SAW IT!! I SAW IT!! Oh...my...God... it was fantastic! Some bits of the book had to be cut out, but not anything too noticable. Death was played by a 6'7" Dutchman. Pixie Albert was played by a famous British TV actor and Knight of the Realm Sir David Jason and Susan...well what a fox! Three and a half hours or so long and it was repeated all Christmas and new Year. I've got a grin like a watermelon slice!! go here!! go here now!!! |

Hmm, hopefully the Sci-Fi channel or BBC America will pick this one up for those of us in the US. Looks like it was a lot of fun. Thanks for the link Cornishmikey. Arabin |

Sky One are currently making a mini-series of 'The Colour of Magic' and 'The Light Fantastic', to be shown in 2008 ![]() Rather oddly, they have cast David Jason as Rincewind ![]() Cheers, Steve |

I saw this on a shelf at a supermarket when I was visiting Ireland back in June and picked it up. I have to find ways to play it that ignore the region code, but man is it a great show. I need to go back and re-read the book. |

As a point of curiosity - I have now loaned out my Hogfather DVD no fewer than eight times - three of the folks that I loaned it to have purchased copies of their own. (Or rather, they asked me to pick them up copies on my frequent trips to Borders.) The DVD is still making rounds, more than a month after Christmas. ![]() The Auld Grump |

I picked up Hogfather DVD from Netflix, and tried watching bits of it on three seperate occassions. Now, I'm usually not able to take a nap during the day... just can't switch my mind off... but this tv series movie put me to sleep on the couch all three times I tried to watch it. I really wanted to like it, but it was way too slow and boring. I do have the book, and it seemed faithful, just... boring. Arabin |

I have the unfortunate quality of being more likely to fall asleep if what I'm watching is good. Rapt concentration slows my breathing and makes me nod off, and if I'm in a movie theater, I don't stand a chance (I don't go to the movies anymore for that reason) - at home I can get up and make tea or something. But if it's crap, I just get so annoyed with it that it keeps me awake. I could probably go see any Michael Bay or Uwe Boll film in the theater without much problem. One exception, though: when I've taken the kids to the movies, I've stayed awake because I am responsible for them. One time, I took a friend's then 12-year-old son to see Revenge of the Sith and was doubly awake. |
