Game Conventions

I go to Origins and GenCon, and now Con on the Cob will be a regular event since I'm one of the "savages".

Between GenCon and Origins its hard to say which is better. Origins is more of a gaming con whereas GenCon is a better industry con. If you like to shop and check out new product then GenCon is a better bet. Origins is tons of fun but its focus is more on playing games since GenCon tends to be the product release con.

Con on the Cob is a personal favorite since I'm so active in the Savage Worlds community.

In 2006 I went to only 1, but 2007 is going to see me at 3 or more! Can't wait!

I have to say none.
But my vote would hardly count as representative as there's only a couple of conventions in NZ each year, and they cover everything sci-fi/games/comics/horror/anime in one go, which means they don't really do anything well.

Well, over here in the tropical wilderness, conventions are a new thang with our first one last year (GAMECON). The next one is planned for early next year, and should feature the first appearance of WWG stuff along with our Dark Age Demos.

When I was back in the UK I went to a couple every year.......... *sigh*

Being a Domestic Manager with a staff of four (House Husband with four kids) I dont find any time to go to conventions :cry:

Last convention I went to was GenCon '94

I'm hoping to hit GenCon here in Europe now that I've crossed the pond.

Dont forget that HMGS-East has 3 cons per year, 2 in Lancaster, PA and one in Gettysburg. They are doing a lot more fantasy and other genres at HMGS cons than they used to. Check them out online and see what some of them are doing. They initiated Godzilla in minis to get kids back into gaming, and the GW folks are there with Paint & Take competitions and games, and just about any dealer you could dream of from the eastern half of the US is represented in the dealer area. Then they have some "mini-cons" throughout the year at other locations.

From an HMGS standpoint, the east coast is a gaming haven compared to much of the rest of the country, until you get up to the Seattle, WA area.
