U. S. Army Reserve, '94-'00 ('00-'02 IRR); 92-Yankee, "In the rear with the gear," so to speak ![]() The Oklahoma City Bombing happened a day before boot-camp graduation at Ft. Leonard Wood (also one of the first co-ed training cycles). I can still remember one of our drill sergeants stressing how "a new kind of war" was on the horizon, and that Oklahoma City was just the start of things to come... Most of my later colleagues had gone through Ft. Jackson, with the intense heat and all; I had the somewhat unique experience of getting smoked in the snow!!! (cycle started in February). "Drop and give me twenty!" |
