Hmmm, I gather that Green Ronin will be seperating their Freeport setting from the D20 system, a good thing for those who like to convert stuff for, say, Savage Worlds. I just received the Freeport Anniversary Edition from the Freelancer Fundraiser (something that I hope turned out well for them). It seems sailor made (err... tailor made) for The Maiden, and in regards to a recently released kitbash, one of the titles in the series is Black Sails Over Freeport. ![]() Has anyone had much experience with the setting? I was considering porting it over to my Iron Kingdoms game, but there may be too many key differences. (Cthulhu Mythos references are more than rife in this setting, they are endemic.) Another possibility is to port them over to my Skull & Bones campaign (if and when it ever leaves harbor), which is already intended to be a Cthulhu Mythos crossover. My only forboding in this regard is that the setting seems to be assuming that the PCs are fairly heroic, while that is generally not the case in S&B. (Villainous, salty dogs seem to be more the norm....) The Auld Grump |

Mr. Grump, Pure and simple the Setting f-ing ROCKS!!!. I have all three of the original. They seperating it from the d20 system due to 3.5 coming out, invalidating their stock 3.0 stuff. I personally don't care if it's 3.0, conversion is simple. But I own all the books in the Freeport series and it is AWESOME!! Highly recommended and converting it to the Iron Kingdoms would not be that difficult. But I thought IK had it's own Pirate Town sourcebook. Of course with the Freeport series you actually get an adventure in 3 parts. At this time I do not own the IK Pirate sourcebook, so I cannot comment on using the Freeport in that scenario. But on it's own, it rocks like a Hurricane and then some. Hmmm Hmm Good, and not just Good, it's GREEEEEAT!! CCotD' |
