I don't know what Eric's policies are in this regard and he may or may not be ok with that form or “reselling”. If a person destroyed his copy of the PDF after building a set and then sells it on Ebay then it might be considered ok BUT WorldWorks has strict policies against this kind of resale for very good reason (it's already happened to us in a few different ways). The link noted above certainly doesn't look good and I highly doubt this person is honorable in their efforts. Unless they are working directly for Eric. A less honorable person could easily take advantage of this kind of situation and continue to build multiple copies of a given modelset thereby making pure profit from someone else's IP. This isn't a plastic kit that you buy once, build once and sell once, this is a digital product with the ability to create multiples from the original. There in lies the problem and forces us to protect our intellectual property rights as creators. “For personal use only” means just that. Can you build a modelset from your purchase? Yes! Can you build a modelset from your purchase and then sell it? No! |

Despite the numerous typos in the WWG policy, I fully concur that selling constructed models from WWG sets is illegal per the usage agreement. I am simply concerned that the person doing such a thing would be labeled a pirate when they are clearly a criminal in violation of the agreement. Piracy seems to imply a different set of circumstances than criminal violation of an agreement or policy. Though both are illegal acts, I just can't seem to wrap my mind around why this would be called piracy instead criminal commercialism of someone else's IP. I can understand if you want to call this piracy, I just think it is a misuse of the term in this case. Enough said, I can again be safely ignored. |

Well, I happen to visit Stones Edges on occasion, in fact the other day I was on his site and it had been hacked by an a$$h... (err someone), so I sent him an email about it from the SW mini site. A day or so later, the hack was gone and he had a message on the site about was coming soon. I'll send him an heads up and hope that he reads my e-mail. Not sure if he noticed the site had been hacked or if my e-mail sent him in that direction. I really can't stand that kind of thing on the net, has happened to me in the past. Anyway, we'll see what happens.
