I ended up with 24 credit hours, about half for "applied learning" and half for in-class hours for a test program at Ft Monmouth, NJ. I wanted to get into a history degree program or military history, but after 11 years I havent found anything in this area, and now my GI Bill has died, so looks like I continue to be the un-educated/self-educated type. I did enjoy that course at Ft Monmouth, in applied psychology. It used our experience and training as chaplain assistants to focus on helping people. Only problem was, it was a bit too little of anything to get into a civilian career of some sort, and has almost no use in a history program if I could find one. Every school I approached thought I should be doing business administration stuff, but I learned long ago that in church admin, nobody can afford the degreed people, at least around here, so wanted to use my education time for something I enjoyed. Still looking. And now I have to pay for it myself if I find anything. The wife spent a year at Ball State University in Muncie, IN, way back before we were married (32 years ago coming up in a couple of weeks - wow, am I old!) and after having been an A student all through school, she found herself burned out. Now she would like to go back for some sort of art program. Maybe we can find something together as we sit in our rocking chairs waiting for the grandkids to stop in. So, DONT IGNORE THE OPPORTUNITY TO GO IF YOU GET IT! You could end up like me!
