Trying to decide if I should get a HeroClix set or not. Anyone out there played it? What's it like? Cheers Chris |

I think the HeroClix idea is great, but its execution is just as weak as the other Wizkids games. My main gripe with their rules is that a figure cannot move AND attack on its activation. Its very counter-intuitive to people who come from a more traditional miniatures gaming background. This mechanic adds a layer of strategy that is unnecessary, IMO. I believe, at least in Mage Knight, that if you attack after a move you take 1 click of damage or some such. Its just odd and all the players in my group have scratched their heads at it. Horrorclix has all but fixed this problem with the Frenzy rule, so I'll be getting some of those. The material quality of the product itself is very good, although the paint jobs still stink. My Cthulhu, however, has a killer paint job as do all the other larger pieces. Worse comes to worst you can use the figs for other games. I've taken to taking the figs off their Clix bases and gluing them onto 1" bases. It works great. |

Thanks for that. Superfigs looks very interesting. Think I may have to get a copy. Picked up a small starter for HeroClix. Not overly impressed but my kids liked the playmat. Mr Blackhammer |
