This is the new Runequest pdf. I haven't picked it up yet as I'm waiting for a few of the following books to come forth - might look at it in Nov. or Dec. I'm still pumped about this, as this was my first rpg I ever played (1ed. in second printing). Lord Abaddon of Wormwood |

I picked up the new version this past week. I have mixed feelings about it, I think that in general I prefer the third edition. Not thrilled with the changes to the experience system (the original is just so organic). The magic system likewise. Character generation, in particular previous experience, is better this time around. Legendary abilities are a nifty addition, and might be worth pillaging. With the addition of hero points (I forget the actual name) combat becomes much more survivable. Not a bad system, I just prefer the one that I am familiar with. The Auld Grump, Thread Necromancer. |
