An old workmate *loved* Guild Wars. It got great reviews, too. Not my cup, but were I to play an mmo, I'd probably try it over WoW. |

For a game that has a one time fee and no monthly, its pretty engrosing. If you enjoy Diablo style games or just quick action or playing against other people, its good fun. A bit limited in the monster fighting, but once you start gaining levels and new skills, you can really customize a character to your liking. |

Guild Wars, IMO, is light years ahead in the graphics department in terms of a realistic looking world. WoW has a great, unique art style, but GW is just...prettier. Also, in GW, you can hire up to 4 (I believe) goons that are low level, but will help you out. You can't control them, but they do what they do effectively. |
