July 7? Bah, the trailer is exciting enough that I want to see it now. I love the Cthulhu/Quarren/Illithid style evil guy. Very cool. If only we could get 28mm miniatures for all the characters, and place them on WWG ships... with Skull Cove in the background... Arabin |

I've been waiting to see this, I just hope it's not the beggining of a line of crappy sequels that'll never live up to the original (like about 75-90% of what Hollywood puts out these days) Richard |

I don't think this will be a problem. They've got the same screenwriters they had for the first movie, who were also the screenwriters for Aladdin. Went to both the preview (with the free "Pirate Cthulhu" poster) at San Diego Comicon and hung out with a good friend of the writers who let me in on some of what was going on with the script, which was that they'd researched every pirate legend they could find and decided to throw them all in for a joint script for PotC II _&_ III. That included not just Davey Jones (aka "Pirate Cthulhu") but the Flying Dutchman. On that end, someone should do a ghost ship kitbash for the Maiden. |

Blasphemy!!!!! This Bruck-Heimer shall surely pay for his temerity. That being said, I had no expectations for the first movie and was nicely surprised. Hope it keeps up. At least it's better than Country Bears!!!!!!! Even WALKEN could not save that. |
