Working on my game again. Feeling like I'm biting off too much again. I feel like I'm juggling too many elements and trying to MAKE them work instead of letting them work together. I have sub-stats affecting skills and stats determining the difficulty...it seemed like a good idea when I made it, but now...I think I really need to strip things down. It got too big. I really want more input. If ANYONE is willing to test out the rules as is on dungeoncrawlers.com, please tell me. At this point I really need feedback as to whats too much and whats not enough. Thanks. |

I'll give it a look through and let you know. I'm also working on my own version of Warhammer Quest, and ran into the same problem until I figured out how to slim down stats vs skills and the like. As Sabrina tells Linus in Sabrina: "More isn't always better, Linus - sometimes it's just more." |

Theres the direct link to that portion of Dungeon Crawlers. First changes from what is uploaded: I am changing the experience system to a "real time" system that is a cross between RuneQuest and Mordheim. Still no classes or levels, but seperate XP bars per skill. My first thoughts as to an overhaul is dumping the sub-stats and JUST having the four big ones; Physical, Mental, Spiritual, Social and then having Positive and Negative Traits that add bonuses for specifics (i.e.; Strong would give a bonus to Physical tests involving strength, Beauty would give bonuses to Social tests involving looks, etc). Thanks again. |

Okay, I read the rules for Character Creation and went over combat and a few other things. It's not bad. It's not complicated nor is it too wordy. However, can you give me one low level monster's stats so I can test how the combat goes against my character so I can finally say what I might think is wrong with it? |

Sure thing. Heres a Goblin for ya. Very basic, but should be enough to play with. Phys: 3 Ment: 2 Spirit: 2 Social: 2 DC: 2 Spd: 3 Act: 2 MR: 2 Health: Head 7, Body 11, Arms 9, Legs 9 Skills: 1-Handed Weapons 3 That should cover everything. Its been awhile since I went through combat, so forgive me if I messed anything up. Also, I am planning on dumping the multi-bar system and simplifying to a single health bar with injuries. |

Allright, getting the damages tallied now. Lost my write ups for about 30 of the 35 races I had. Lost magic (which is okay since it needed to be fixed). First priority: Hermetic Magery (as opposed to Clerical/Spiritual). |

Thanks for the support. My slaving days are nearly over and I should be back to work on the game soon. Also can't wait to start digging into yours again! |
