CR reaction is the main rule set right? Then the other sets have the basic rule system plus flavour rules, is that correct? All rules come with a system to play with oneself? ![]() Not like that you rude little blighters!! Lord Abaddon of Wormwood |

We've used the standard C.R. rules for anything and everything. Zombies, Stargate, WW2, pulp, bug hunts, etc. The "flavors" focus on one of the genres and does a good job of it. In ATZ, you'll find things like chainsaws, but not flamethrowers. CR has Flamethrowers but not chainsaws. ATZ goes into details on the Zombies and has a nice campaign system. We've gotten GUTS and used it for Stargate skirmishes. |

OK, coming back to this thread because I was almost (ALMOST!) tempted to get WH40K 4th ed. I want a game that is flexible enough for skirmish or small armies and that I can play fantasy vs. sci-fi. Is this possible with the THW systems or at least plausible? Basically, I want to play the 40K races in a better game system as well as fantasy gaming in that same system...pitting them against eachother is optional, but would be nice. This make any sense? Also, I was looking at No Limit/No Quarter. Anyone played both to compare? |

The only thing I've got against TwoHour games is the horrid formatting and layout of the book. I had one hell of a time slogging through ATZ when I first got it. And even the second time through had me shaking my head. The system (in my opinion) is rather poorly explained. And the interjections of what I am guessing are his "funny moments" or special explanations really had me shaking my head...and waving a red pen pen threatening to block out whole areas of text. But with that said, if he were to pay an editor or layout person to redo the books, I'd buy the whole line. The mechanics are, after actually playing them, interesting. It kind of just flows after a while. ~Floyd |

Floydski: You're right. The layouts and the writing itself could use work. But, once you get the mechanics, they're not bad.. and that somewhat outweighs the book layout... |
