I admit to being underwhelmed by Exalted, and having no desire to run or play in the setting. Mostly a matter of not liking the system all that much. (Not hating it, but it did not reach out and grab me - I preferred the older WoD Storyteller system.) Considering that I purely hate the new version of the Storyteller system used for the new WoD my hopes for the second ed. are low to non-existent. The Auld Grump |

I'll just add to Rob's review that the first Exalted game, after they started releasing all the expanded factions (such as Dragon-blooded, Sidreals, etc), became a giant mess of skill trees and all the independent rules for different types of characters. This, of course, always the way it was with White Wolf - you have similar rules, but the independent titles (Vampire vs Werewolf vs Mage) did not work together well. Now, the 2nd Ed seems to clear all that up and is moving to keep all the factions manageable. This may make Exalted a much more decent game in the long run. BTW, I, too, have the original 1st Edition Mage: The Ascention, and it by far was the best WW product I have ever played. |
