I know some of the folks who post here play WARMACHINE... What are your armies?

I play Cygnar, and while I might eventually consider Khador I suspect that Cygnar will remain my primary army. They are the closest thing to good guys in the game.

For Hordes I rather like The Circle of Oroborous, plus I have some scenarios set in the Iron Kingdoms setting that the Warpwolf will be just ducky for.

I'm a huge fan of Khador. Nothing says "I love this game" like a giant metal fist, and no one can deliver the punishment like Khador.

I haven't had a chance to play much, but that's going to change very quickly. I'm joining the battle board at Safe Haven Games, so I'll be getting lots of practice real soon.

I decided that, although I love Sorcha, I had to play a different warcaster. After all, everyone but Khador players hate Sorcha, and I aim to prove that Khador can kick just as much butt without her at the helm.

To that end, I got Karchev the Terrible. He's a warcaster IN a heavy warjack! Muahaha!

Can't wait.

On the Hordes front - they all look so cool! My early impressions go to the Order of Orboros and the Legion of Everblight. However, Skorne uses giant elephants... and that's just cool.

I'll have to see how they play, and choose based on that.

I have not had good luck in regards to opponents, the only one who can beat me on a regular basis is Khador (with Sorscha... boy is she annoying!) Though lately I have been finding out how much fun an Ironclad can be against low defense high armor 'jacks... A year after my first game and I am still feeling my way through the army.

A Friendly Not So Local Game Store had a 'proxy tournament' when the Hordes Quickstart rules came out - the winner gets the army he used as a prize when it comes out... I got hammered flat in two of the three games I played - losing to Skorne and Everblight, and stomping the Trollbloods in turn. I only wish that I owed that one victory to good tactics instead of a weak opponent. (The tactics that work for Cygnar are a sure recipe for suicide with the Circle. I realized this going into the battles, but did not come up with a replacement strategy. As a result I was disorganised and tentative.) The game plays very differently than WARMACHINE, and losing critters can hurt in the endgame since they are what fuel your spellcaster.

I've heard the difference described as Warmachine being resource management, and Hordes being risk management.

I play Khador. I'll try and snap a few of my minis - I just finished Epic Sorscha. What a figure!

I do have quite a few Cryx I traded with my GF (she decided she wanted Cygnar instead, which I happened to have).

Looking forward to Hordes though; I'm torn between Everblight and the Skorne; as Aleph said, giant elephants as troops = cool!

I would like to hear your review as well BigHara. I have read battle reports from , but I look forward to hearing about it from someone here.

As an FYI, I put in my Pre-order for Hordes..... big sticker shock......

And for Superbowl Sunday I played Warmachine with my BIGs (built in Gamers).

Good times all round.... (oh except when my youngest jumped up and danced around his oldest brother going "I told you the Seahawks sucked and they would loose!!!" and the eldest decked him!! )

Still gotta laugh.
