I like Silent Death and am thinking about Noble Armada and Cold Fury [when it comes out]. The First Light sets should come in handy for boarding actions with the latter two games, and perhaps may be useful for some of the larger ships in Silent Death with some rules additions. |

I've read quite a bit about Attack Vector:tactical. It uses a pretty interesting system(iuses a stacking system to represent height/altitutde in a 3d space. And also lets you show ship angle). Quite a bit of math has been done to make this system work very well. I hear it's not "that" difficult to learn, but some people are put off by it and the need for good spacial reasoning, etc. Once you get over the curve I guessi t's quite streamlined and plays well. It looks quite goo, but a bit steep on price for me at the mo. ($50.00 +) pss. Have you tried GDW:Triplanetary? It has one of the best "vector" movement systems I've seen. The mechanics work in planetary orbits and gravity slingshots all on their own. The actual combat part is a little weak, but realistic. ps. I had a chance to pick up Full Thrust 2nd Ed for $18, and Talisman 3rd Ed for $75. Wish I hadn't passed up on the former. I may go back and see if they still have it. |

The Auld Grump
I'll have to look into that, I just found their catalog and it looks like a lot may have been added since I saw it many years ago. Anybody have any experience with Ad Astra's "Attack Vector:Tactical"?
Sorta looking forward to their adaptation: Saganami Island Tactical Simulator. I would have to try that one which would let me evaluate the system. |
