I know that I am not the only fan of Privateer Press here, so... I finished my first piece of Iron Kingdoms terrain a few weeks ago, a round house and 'jack repair facility, using mostly Interior Works. The thing ended up both simpler and bigger than I had planned. One piece has now been added to my to-do list, I am going to make a new roof, this one incorporating the peak from CWU and the crane from Skull Cove, with the crane depending from the ceiling. What other things are people doing to bring WW and PP together? The Auld Grump |

Welll, as you might guess, I am not entirely happy with the roof as it is now, between the small windows and the lack of a skylight that building is going to be darned dark. My intent is to have the central peak serve dual purpose as a skylight and to hold the upside down derrick from Skull Cove. Getting it built might be a bit fiddly. ![]() The round section is made from six double height C&K 7" walls, with the top sections peaked. Mostly the double windowed, except for the 'jack entrance, which is windowless, and has the large doors from the old Castle Works mounted in the center. Where the 8th section would go is a square double height building, the top floor removeable, measuring 14x14 inches. After the roof I am going to build a power mill, using a waterwheel from VW. The scenario has a swift moving river there, so there would be a mill using it. A power mill is a mill that sells rotary power, they were somewhat common in the 18th century, several manufactories might be powered by a single power mill, some used a combined over and under waterwheel to maximize output. I may build some destroyed sections for the mill, it is going to be the target of sabotage in the game. I picture industry in the IK as somewhat akin to the late 18th century, the industrial revolution has begun, but not all the pieces are yet in place. A chunk of the scenario is based on the Pinkertons and the Molly Maguires. The Auld Grump |

Hmmm, I rather disagree with that statement about lesser Warcasters, the 'Jack Marshalls are for the most part tied to specific units, lacking the flexibility of a Warcastrer, and the Focus. So I suspect that they will get around to it, eventually. However, I just downloaded #6 which has an article called "Stopgap Warcasters", which gives a starting point. ![]() The Auld Grump |

I have decided that rather than the traditional blue and gold of the Cygnar crown troops I will be going with a regional regiment - fir green and autumn brown, good colors for a bunch of swampies! In this case posted on the edge of the Thornwood, which gives an excuse for several Hunters and other shooty 'jacks. When I get the Protectorate box I believe that I will be going with a black and white scheme, with black the predominating color. Black does not show blood... Khador will get their traditional red, the words for red and for beautiful share a root in Russian, Red Square was Red Square for a long time before the Communists were even born. If I have time I may give them a brocaded look, swirling lines of lighter red on the crimson. Cryx is getting a blue black metallic color for the most part, I have already painted an Iron Liche that color. (And then the players never went anywhere near that part of the adventure, which means that he is still very much unalive, and is going to find out who folied his schemes. Foiled them while somehow never finding out who was behind it... I left plenty of clues, they even found a map with a rendevous point and several dates and times! But what are the odds of a liche being a vengeful bastiche?) And I came up with a new design for the roof of the 'jack roundhouse, which when I get around to it should make life a little easier - more akin to a Mansard roof*, with a railing around the top, allowing people to walk around up there, making the roof much more useful from a gaming perspective, and easier to place the observation tower and internal crane on, they can now be made into a drop in piece rather than permanently fixed up there.. The Auld Grump A cross section more like this: **____ */*****\ Rather than a traditional peaked roof. I may or may not add dormers for increased light. The Auld Grump |

I just picked up Mechmancy, which should work just fine for some of the Cyriss cultists, at least until I get me grubbies on Liber Mechanika... The Auld Grump - tick, tock...tick, tock... titck to...*Sproing!* Dang it! Back to the drawing board... |

I bumped into The Mighty Molly Gallagher at the mall today. Ye Gods! She's in high school! How the heck did that happen?! The first year of the school program the teams for the year ending water gun battle was split between the two Mil. Sci. classes - and I had the younger team. Greg had all the experienced students, but my team had Molly! ![]() The Auld Grump, ye gods, I miss the Festival. |

Must have just missed you. I was in late this afternoon and saw those there and took me a lot of willpower not to get them! |

Superiority is a great supplement. Legends isn't bad either, but Superiority goes farther in expanding the game. The Auld Grump |
