OK, so my wife agreed to play a game of Frostgrave with me last weekend weekend, since I had prepared her a warband with multiple options and built a lot of scenery for my small home board. Her New Kingdom Egyptians warband against my Meroitic Amazons (of course they had amazons in Meroe, don't you imagine how strange things could have been like I do?) She won the game fair and square, I did not "let" her win to entice her into playing again. However, she looked at the board after the game, and at the scenery box, and rearranged everything, added new stuff, removed stuff, and then said "This is how it should be for our next game. There is more cover and we will have to move around more." So she had a good time with it, and we will be playing again soon. The cardstock terrain is largely non-WWG; Pharoahs Descent was unavailable when I modelled all of this up for a D&D game several years back. However, my wife suggested I make a fixed-terrain board like the HeroClix boards I made her way back when, and I am going to be doing it as 18" square modular boards so we can have some variance of scenery, and I will be using WWG for all of that goodness. Here are a few pictures of the game on a 2'x2' board: And this is the fixed-terrain Heroclix board that inspired her for my next project: She is a little under the weather right now, but I am.hoping to get in a game with her this afternoon or evening. |

Ah-ha! Another fan of the "mini-masterboard" approach! Looks like fun. I like the detail of the semi-submerged wagon in the sand... |
