Post subject: | Runequest and/or Glorantha |
Lately, I have been interested in the Runequest RPG and the Glorantha setting. Can anyone recommend/share their favorite resources and/or sites? In particular I am looking for an active and friendly forum community for such. Not that any community will EVER be as good as this one! BTW, I see no reason ducks cannot be taken as seriously as characters as, say, other anthropomorphic characters based on cats, dogs, or even bulls... Thank you all in advance ![]() |

While not all of the links I'll post on this thread are strictly for RQ, they contain RQ related info. I don't play RQ, but do use the core rules, Basic Role Playing rules to be exact, which are the rules that CoC and RQ use. So you can use those as resources also. First there's the RQ encounter generator. is a great community website that covers everything BRP, they have a section of the forum for RQ. I'll post more as I think of them. |

Thanks for the links, Skunkape. I thought I had thanked you when you posted them, but apparently I did not. Anyways, with the lack of my otherwise planned re-entry into the local wargaming community, this is going to be more of my project now. I am becoming increasingly obsessed with Glorantha anyways, so it's all good. |

Have you considered looking around for the GW hardcovers of third edition RuneQuest? (The Avalon Hill version was pretty much torpedoed by low production quality - but the GW version was pretty decent.) The Auld Grump |

Rebel Minis has 28mm sized ducks (about 20mm tall) that I will be getting to dip my feet in Glorantha miniatures (thank you, Rebel Minis Speing Sale!) I have lots of leftover bits and pieces from my plastic Persians and Amazons to do some conversions to make them look more Bronze Age Military, as long as some old Aztec shields. Because, you know, feathers. And ducks. In any event, my friends are starting to play Brink of Battle Epic Heroes, and I think some Bronze Age ducks will be just the thing to tackle those pesky Rat Men and Dorfs... |

I guess this means I also need to start think about duck-ish terrain... Swampwood Village comes to mind... |

Ducks should arrive in the mail tomorrow, currently workingbon duck hits courtesy of Skull Cove. Found a Hippopotamus in the toybox just the right size to build a Durulz War Hippo.,. |

Ducks arrived in the mail today. I think I might be doing some conversion work tonight. I made a duck village this morning using Skull Cove (and a couple of obelisks for my Basti cat girls, not done with those yet.) http://s246.photobucket.com/user/punkra ... n.jpg.html |

Nice. The ducks need some ladders to waddle up into their huts, though. |

Ok, so now I have all my ducks in a row, I just need to wait for glue and putty to dry so I can paint and base them. I used leftovers from my Wargames Factory amazons and persians for new headgear, shields, and weapons. The ducks themselves seemed more "adventurer party" and less "death cultist warband" so I wanted to make them look a bit more bronze age military. They are now followers of Humakt, ready to push the Lunar Empire out of Upland Marsh for good. |
