I wanted to give my players some sense of the size and layout of Scarwall (from part 5 of Curse of the Crimson Throne Adventure Path) so I adjusted all the maps for the floors so they were about the same size and then cut them out and edged them. I was going to just lay them on top of each other to show a bird's eye view of the monstrous castle, but I realized that just a little bump and it's all over the place. So, I glued a metal sheet to a layer of foamcore and slapped some cheap adhesive magnets onto the bottoms of the different sections so they would stick in place. What came out really ended up a ton better than I expected and my players were thrilled with the 2.5D effect it gave and the ability to see a general layout of the various sections and towers. Could probably gotten a similar effect by gluing each level to foamcore and cutting them out, too, but that just seemed like way more work than was worth it. |

Very nice. Wish I'd known about this idea when we were exploring Ravenloft Castle. |

Looks great! Gives you a good map, that is playable and still looks great! |
