Just got the November 2013 Annual... ye cods and little fishies, I have not seen a map like that since Dragonlance! I am using the Annual for writing a Christmas gift for some friends - they like BECMI, and for the last couple of years I have been making them Pathfinder Beginner Box adventures. This style will be perfect for that. I will need to play with it a bit, but I have a grasp on what I want to write for them. The Auld Grump |

I had the old greyhawk map like that on my wall for most of the 80s! ![]() I wonder where it is now? And CC3 eh? Haven't use that for (thinks) 2 PCs now... |

I used to use CC a 'ell of a lot in the day (remember the old 3 /12 disks of the DOS version?). I seem to be just making less maps these days I guess, or am just using online tools when I do. |

I'll be using it for Warhammer 40K campaign maps for Planetary Empires. |

I had forgotten about CC3. Went to look and see what it would take, it's awfully expensive. $45 for the base software, then anywhere from $30-50 for the map packs. Thats nuts. ~J |

That's a good point Grump. If my bonus is particularly large this year at work I will probably get it simply because it would be extremely useful. I'd be more inclined if there wasn't a huge amount of WWG stuff I still want to add to my collection. ~J |

The Annuals are what make the program worth having - and gives ProFantasy a more steady revenue stream into the bargain. Heck, until an Annual came out for making Battlemaps, I just had not bothered. The ability was there, but the graphics... were not up to the task. Might as well start with the free stuff - below you will see me mention Jon Roberts a fair amount, and one of his sets is available as a . Another freebie is a set of templates for . You can use Jon Roberts stuff with them, so the compliment each other nicely. So... a question - what do you want to do with CC3? For interiors of all sorts you will want Dungeon Designer - which I have used more often for buildings than for dungeons, let me tell you. ![]() The Annuals also have things to use with DD - including improved illumination and Jon Roberts mapping styles. Heck, grab anything by Jonathon Roberts in the annuals - most of the time his sets are where I begin and end. If you want to make street plans of cities, then City Designer is a big help - and, again, there is a really nice Jon Roberts style pack in one of the annuals, this time for making cities.... Though I have used a lot of the Annuals for making cities, most, but not all, requiring City Designer - but always easier to use if you have CD. There is material in the annuals for making SF and Modern maps as well, but I have not done much with really modern - my settings sort of stop in 1899. ![]() The first Annual, which you already have, two of my most used styles - Mercator maps and Jon Speed maps (I did the maps for my Elf & Orc War with those.) I recommend going to YouTube and searching for Campaign Cartographer - there is a lot of stuff on there - from tutorials to 'Hey! Look what I made!' videos. The Auld Grump |
