At first I thought that it was just hyperbole, but I have heard it too many times now - there were no games or gaming space at the most recent Games Day UK.... What the Hell?! Is Games Workshop just sliding off the edge of the world? The Auld grump |

They just showed off new models (not new games cause they killed anything that isn't Warhammer/40K/LOTR) and talked about what new models are coming... |

Visitors paid 35 quid for a chance to shop. GW is now officially scraping bottom. The Auld Grump |

Seems more than a little ridiculous. What are they chances they figure that out? |

Given the current Interweb chatter... folks do indeed realize that Games Day this year was nothing but a rip off.... Reaper manages a decent con, with a great deal fewer resources. Paizo runs a good con. GW... used to, but more and more they are purely about the quick dime, not the slow dollar. The Auld Grump |

Privateer Press puts on a heck of an event as well. Everything that Games Day was plus all day open gaming AND tournaments including prizes just for playing games, even if its not in a tournament! |

They ran it as a trade show. Boo to them not warning in advance if they didnt. Really sad, but i believe the whole thing is their plan to have someone buy them like Hasbro did to WOTC. Reading through the uk equivelant of the 10k it is starting to smell of 'buy me' so thecurrent regime can retire. |

It's the same as the White Dwarf. Used to have some really good articles, how-to's and such. All about the hobby. Now nothing but a catalog with pretty pics. Everybody at my local is looking for ways to avoid giving GW any more money. If its not Ebay, its proxy. Since they stopped hosting tournaments and setting standards, the GW side of the hobby has become nonexistent. Grey armies have become the norm, and having fun that did not consider "competitive" play has gone right out the window. That's 20 years i'd like to have back GW... |

I have seen pictures comparing Games Day 2013 with that of Games Day 2003.... Wow. Just... wow.... ![]() Gods above and below... and what you can't see in that image is that is using less of the space - a smaller space that is less crowded.... The Auld Grump |

Games Workshop security confiscated the cameras of a gaming website that went to Games Day to cover the event. I am now officially done with GW - I will not purchase their products, either new or upon eBay. I will purchase from their direct competition - Avatars of War, Raging Heroes, Mantic and others will continue to garner the moneys that GW is no longer receiving. They are anathema. *Breaks candle, and casts the pieces upon the ground* The Auld Grump |

Ha Ha Ha. Miniwargaming.com decided to shut their on-line store and deal with just producing vids... Sounds like BOW and Wayland are now going their seperate ways for this. I just wish they would go ahead and just announce that the only play you can buy their crap is via their own website and stores.... period. I miss AT-43.... |

A lot of stores are suffering from delays - but GW makes certain that their own shops are well supplied. While I was engaging in hyperbole in regards to the candle, I really am done with GW. Found this on Dakka - found it amusing: Looks like GW is picking up some Ack Ack fire.... ![]() The Auld Grump |
