Had the usual wonderful time at the Bristol Renn Faire this weekend. Saw some old favorite acts - New Minstral Review, the Magnificent Moonie, The Ded Bob Sho, and Bounding Main (who by the way are celebrating 10 years of performance and will be going to France for a competition!). I discovered a couple new acts, one of which is Ogham - the husband wife team of T.J.Hull and Amanda Caretta-Hull on fiddle and bodhran. (Okay, they've been around at least since 2009, but they are new to me.) The other new act I *have* to rave about: "Sirena", produced by the Seelie Players. Three young gals themed around the legendary Sirens singing in perfect harmony while dancing and beating on tribal drums. You have to check these gals out at http://www.theseelieplayers.com/history.html - and grab either of their two albums. Perfect background music to inspire those Maiden of the High Seas builds. (Of course, Bounding Main works damn fine for that, too!) The Facebook pic is blocked for me. Thanks for sharing the other stuff, though! I haven't been to the Ren Fair since I was a kid. Maybe I should get the family together to go this year... |

My family was at the fair just a couple weeks ago. We really liked Sirena. Particularly my daughter who likes dance herself. She is already talking about wanting to go back soon. |

Well, I tried a different link but it came up same way as before so that wouldn't seem to do any good, and the pic won't load directly because it's too big. If I knew how to shrink it down to the 256KB maximum, I'd try that, but... |

I went to the castle in Madrid a few months ago, and bought a sword in Toledo last month... does that count as going to a RennFaire? |
