I absolutely refused to buy a car with all those chips and plastic a couple years ago, sooo I ended up with a v8 near classic cop car. Unfortunately, I didn't factored in that at my age I had already lost some strength. In the last month I've managed to hit myself in the head with the car door ... that solid, heavy, metal door. That hurt! I guess I'll down size and get an old coupe. |

Delta, they all take a bit of getting used to. New ones, old one, cheap ones, expensive ones, trucks, coupes, and sedans, even the SUV's. But after awhile, most all get worn in like a pair of new leather gloves, comfortable. ![]() |

I hope it gets better, but I have a few people who want to buy the car if I can't handle it. One asked, 'Now Miss Connie why did you go and buy that big old car?' Because I was STUPID! Not that I told him that. |

More than likely it was not a stupid decision, but rather one made with old information. Wasn't too many years ago when you bought a car, it was a big car. That was the iron the auto manufacturers put on the showroom floor and you had a choice of a big car, a bigger car, and the biggest car. These days we have many more choices to make and very few cars even fall into the big category and almost none of them fall into the biggest category. Asses your needs and wants in what you drive, then do your research online, then find the cars that you think match up and drive them. Take the car you are ready to plop your money down on to your mechanic and have him give the car an inspection and take the info you find back to the person selling the car and negotiate a lower price based on the issues your mechanic has found. When paid for arrange for your mechanic to do the work that needs to be done and you will then have a car that gives you many miles of dependable transportation. With my kids needing wheels and momma needing a nicer car, this is the pattern I have use to buy four cars in the last five years. Spent a lot of money on cars and my mechanic is now driving a new diesel pick up. ![]() |

Thank you so much for the advice. I'm following it. I talked to my mechanic and he said he would be happy to help me. |
