Simon Pegg's new movie looks good. The World's End Of course... it looks a lot like Hot Fuzz and Sean Of The Dead, probably filmed in the same town. |

The World's End looks good too. I sorta remember participating in a bar run in 1986 where participants ran, jogged, or walked a route and stopped at 10 designated bars along the route and were required to drink a beer at each one. There was a prize for completing the route in the shortest time. Lots of puke patches to avoid toward the end of the route.

I've been to towns like that... Mind you, with pubs that have at least 11 cask ales on (1' 20" in), I'd happily brave a few aliens to drink there...

World War Z: I was far more interested before I saw the trailer when we saw Star Trek: Into Darkness. Will wait for it to hit HBO. |

I didn't get the impression that the infected only lived 28 days. I thought the name of the movie stemmed from the start of the infection to when the main character woke up, hence the 28 weeks later sequel... But agreed, they eventually ran out of energy which made sense. |

I really am not into zombie movies, but I've actually been reading fairly good reviews online of World War Z. Most said they went into it expecting a flop, but were surprised at how good it ended up being. |

I haven't seen R.I.P.D. yet, but the reviews... do not look good. Sad thing is that all the reviews seem to agree that Jeff Bridges was good - it was the movie as a whole that fell flat. The Auld Grump |

This summer has been mostly mediocre so far. Few films have legs, surprises have been rare. Only Pacific Rim has really delivered the goods for me. Great Gatsby drew some really elegantly dressed crowds. A few jaw dropping flapper women. Star Trek 2 was a freaking travesty. As a Trek fan for over 40 years, I felt crapped on. I remember thinking about half way through, "THIS guy is doing Star Wars?? Oh nooooooooooo" Man of Steel aaaaaaaalmost got it right. This year's Pixar was decent. The lighting was GORGEOUS. |

I liked Elysium. It was mostly a violent action film, but I think it showed a lot more than that. Like how the wealthy view those who are not. It is not kid friendly, unless you think witnessing grenades or what close range aerial burst munitions can do to to people... I also liked Star Trek, and Pacific Rim. |
