I'd like to use gorgeous WWG terrain for something other than RPG, so I'm looking for your advice! What are good and popular wargames or skirmish games that use square grid and are of right scale to be used with WWG products? Ones having simplified LoS tracing would be most apreciated! Thanks in advance for all suggestions ![]() |

Even with the grid tiles, WWG textures hide them well enough that you shouldn't feel constrained by them. A lot of games have moved away from the "no measuring" rule before shooting and such too. Personally I just can't give up on the 40k universe so I've been dying to play Deathsquads (can't get the link to work from my phone so use the one in my signature), it's not grid based so that may be a killer for you. But it is a living campaign so your troops gain XP and collect injuries which is a nice bridge to RPGs. It's all fan made but they do a ton of work and are directly involved on the forums. Other than that I'm not much help, it's been ages since I've had a group so I end up buying on the premise of "someday". |

Hm... off the top of my head: Sedition Wars Dungeon Command All Things Zombie (IIRC) Puppet Wars (kinda) Hm... Not really pulling any others up from the old memory, but I know that the TCP sets include a 1" grid on them, and they're designed to go with Malifaux, which is a gridless system, so don't let the requirement for a grid limit your options. |

Dust Tactics has 1 ft. tiles with 9 big squares each, so you could fit one with any four 6" tiles from WWG stuff - buildings, but also scenic terrain like Deadman's Canyon (that works superbly for North Africa scenarios). |

I use No Limits on a grid and it works just fine. |

Thankyou for all propositions! After doing some research about them, it looks like Dust Tactic is a game that I would enjoy the most.I'm only not sure if it's right scale for WWG terrain. For terrain, I'm thinking about changing the size of grid, so 1 Dust square (4x4 inches) = 1 6x6 TLX tile. This of cource will increase map size by 50% but this way I won't have to put custom grid on tiles. What do you think about this idea? Any further advice is welcomed! |
