I am sitting here at my computer trying to get out of the internet vortex...seriously I have cycled through forums and videos for the last few hours.

I am trying to convince myself to do one of the following:
*edge the stack of paper I have next to me
*Play a video game
*print and cut more things to be added to my already huge pile
*go organize something in my house
*work on painting

Note that the majority of the above qualify as things that I have not done much of for the last few months...and yet I find myself overwhelmed with options. It would be nice if someone could help me through this difficult time (lol). I feel like this belongs in one of those "first world problems" memes.

I would suggest taking either the paints or the paper crafts to a fast food restaurant, and working on it while surrounded by the hustle and bustle of people's lives.

My being able to do that confuses the heck out of some people, but oxymoronic as it sounds I find the distraction makes it easier to focus. I am not tuning the hub bub out - I can actually listen in on several conversations while happily painting or edging away.

Failing that, on a DVD or T.V., and work on stuff with the sound as background noise.

The Auld Grump, I think that it is a type of fugue state.

I watched all four episodes of On the Table at GeekandSundry.com while edging a couple of pages of terrain props. I am now going to watch a movie if one of the other web-shows doesn't catch my eye first.

That sounds like a bit of cabin fever to me. I'd suggest getting out of the house and going for a walk outdoors somewhere.

For me, its an incessant need to think of new things or study new things. Generally I subvert that to games, I read rules, or adventures and fuse that into ideas to torment my players with.

I have cleaned up my desk and edged a decent chunk over the last few days. I am thinking that I might try and squeeze in some painting tonight or tomorrow. The internet keeps taking my precious time and squandering it...
