We decided to go light with the gifts this year. I still wanted to post a couple of relevant things I got and see what fool things you guys picked up. (I did get lucky with gifts from family members). -a homemade science experiment kit -supplies to build awesome forts with my daughter (sheets and closepins and whatnot) -Imaginiff boardgame -Werewolves of Miller's Hollow and expansion -Walking Dead Board Game -Wits and Wagers Party Game -Big Bang Theory trivia game -Anything I pick up for myself from the WWG and Steam sales in the next few days The best gift has been the trip to the cabin. Twelve days of snow, board games and shooting ranges with family that doesn't get to see each other often enough...with a dash of alcohol thrown in. (This has been a mostly whiskey trip). |

Well... That explains why you've been so quiet recently... I have to say I got a few small tools, a couple Malifaux models (Sue and Justice Avatar), some new 40k novels, much needed clothes, and a $50 dollar gift card to my local for when the new DA codex comes out next month. |

That trip sounds awesome (other stuff not bad, either!). Just my kind of thing. My swag included(* = on my list): * GoalZero Guide 10 portable solar panel kit (goes in my camping pack) * L.L. Bean Wicked Good Slippers (in tan) Gift card to the supermarket Keychain knife sharpener (camping pack again) Skylanders Giants (combo gift for me and my boys) My wife and I decided to go light this year and we do not swap gifts with our siblings, so overall I am pretty happy with it. We channeled our excitement through our boys and it is a Lego-, puzzle-, Mousetrap-filled vacation for them. It was a bit somber for us with the events in our hometown, but spreading the joy for the boys helped us as well, and we were just happy to spend time with each other most of all. |

Scored a few games - Gloom, Carcassonne Hunters and Gatherers, and some rules (Joust, Long Rifle, and Rally Round the King from 2HW, plus Blasters and Bulkheads, Chaos in Carpathia, and Supersystem 3). A slew of 15mm not-Star Trek TOS figs from Astro Miniatures, and some Heroclix for Supersystem. A stuffed Domo-in-a-Godzilla-suit, a few T-shirts and a nice aloha shirt (business-wear here in Hawaii), a new camera, and a Wacom pad with the wireless transmitter. And I bought Atlantis, Wormhole, and the Verus fleet in the sale. All in all, it was a good christmas. Alexio |

From a friend -Dishonored -Borderlands 2 My in-laws gave me enough cash to buy a REALLY nice hi-hat stand AND a new set of hats (Zildjian A circa 1970s). |

only to stop when finding out a new Codex was coming. (Not before I could field 5 squads of Terminators and 2 Ravenwing squads, though.) I did use some to get Platemail Primer, Vallejo Smoke and some other painting goodies. Also, the wife and I both got new iPads. Hers because her last one broke. Mine was actually a surprise. (My daughter is thrilled - she'll get my iPad 1.) And for my birthday (Dec 19th) my wife also got me custom Converse hightops, with "Browncoat" stitched along the back and a Serenity Valley patch on the outside ankles. That was very cool.

My family is pretty unknowledgable about RPGs, cardstocking, etc. But I got a large smoked meat tube and a 5# bag of peanuts! Also a Christopher Lee as Sherlock Holmes DVD set. Picking up the Kelmarane set on the sale (now finally back home from Paizo! - thanks Denny!) |

Not much for Christmas swag this year - some miniatures and a jingly elf har from my players, some CDs from my brother (who knows nothing about my taste in music) and some anime DVDs of Case Closed (I don't know anything about Case Closed - but I am not exactly the biggest fan of anime....) My family is pretty clueless about gaming, so I don't even ask... - Ski rack for the new CRV - WeatherTech floor mats...as we actually have snow, and I don't want the new car to be ruined - around $100 in stained glass supplies (my other hobby/business) - wine(!) - (BEST. GIFT. EVAR!) |
