In the UK... it's raining. At the moment it's warmer than it will be later on in the year. Not so warm as it was.
But the rain... is constant...

What a weird, rainy day here in CT...it is warm, but that end of summer warm that is telling of the next season right around the corner. The rain has been up and down all day. Now swiftly moving clouds force the sun into a game of hide and seek. The leaves are turning colors (already!). Personally, I cannot wait for fall...it is my favorite season. The air is crisp and cool; harvesting season is in full bloom; and there are so many fun things to do. Anyone else noticing the changes yet? |

You get fall... we, in Colorado, get a day where the weather turns from damn hot to 'your nipples are like diamonds'. That day should hit here in about two weeks... :S |

Ah here in CT that is what happens in the early part of the year, but in reverse where it goes from, diamond hard nipples to Darn it's hot. Having lived in two other countries besides the US, and 4 other States here in the US... CT only has three seasons. Summer, Fall, Winter Repeat there is no Spring. |

In Seattle, you can tell because it goes from the normal 70-90 during the day/60-80 at night to 70-80 during the day and 50-70 at night. That ten degree shift happens over about 3 days. Just did. |

We are still well over 100 degrees. To top it off, the district decided that turning the AC off at 1:00 would be a good idea. We have school until 3:45 and I had meetings back to back until 6:00. I have been sweating for almost 6 hours nonstop. |

4-some hours WSW of Chicago in the farmlands of NE Central Illinois we are still having regular temps of high 80s often going into the 90s (still). Better than the near 100 even in the last week. We even still have really hot days (where some schools let out classes early because of the heat!) next month in September; the leaves won't start turning until its end. |

Today was another great day...warm and humid earlier on, but when I left the office (late) at 7:00 PM the air was cool, I could smell wood stoves and just the "fall smell." |

In Honolulu we don't get seasons so much as we get changes in the surf patterns - in the summer half of the year we get south/east shore breaks predominantly, in winter we get north and west shore breaks more often. Alexio |

Yeah, I too have noticed the cooling of the temperatures. A bit cooler during the days, and nights leaving the windows open actually cools the house. Living in the Denver metro area has really spoiled me. After moving from western Illinois where summers are 80 degrees with 80% humidity, and winters are one good snow followed by six weeks of frozen mud, we now will typically have three snow falls where we get three inches of snow, for three days, then it is all melted, or it only snows on the grass types of snow. Not a snow kind of guy. Grew up in South Dakota and Minnesota where we would get six foot of snow with twenty foot drifts. Would have to leave the house in winter from the second story window, unless we lived in a one story ranch, where we would just stay home for three days until our neighbors would dig a tunnel to our door. I like the Spring. I can start to plant and dig in the dirt. Feels good after Winter. Fall, feels looming. |

Here in the deep south there realy wasn't a Winter season to speak of last year. My trees were way over due to change color and took forever to shed their leaves ...December felt like Fall. Essentialy we missed Winter. Anyway, I expect to be running air-conditioning for a few months still. I'm hoping to get some pecans and walnuts off the trees this year ... just the right mix of heat and mild rain. One can always hope. Aside from the weather mix, it is always a race with the squirels, chipmonks, and birds to gather them up ... each getting their share. |
