Played the D&D board game for the first time tonight. Feeling VERY mixed about it. It has the same issue as 4th edition for me and my wife. Players are VERY limited on abilities. Nothing feels particularly special. Move, attack, rinse, repeat. The random dungeon was GREAT and that part works well...but the fact that monsters have ZERO tactics and automagically just engage the closest hero got boring FAST. I'm thinking we could keep the random dungeon and just use real D&D on top of it (ANY edition). The Monster and Treasure decks would go right out the window and have to be replaced with something else, though. Heck, could use the same monster cards just with real stats instead of...whatever that was. Will have to play it one more time to really pin down what felt...boring.

I have both WOA and Legend of Drizzt board games and like them both, yes it's 'rinse & repeat' but it does get you thinking about tactics.

It uses d6s, tiles, cards and minis, and there is randomness and is great fun. I tried the Ravenloft game and felt the same way as you do. This is much different.

Seems like and interesting game. Have you thought about doing cutfiles for it?

I have no experience with cut files... but, if someone would like to help out in that department, I'd be more than happy to post the files along side and give credit.

I saw tiles and tokens and assumed it would help. Good to know it is a quick build.
